Families deserve a policy they can read, understand, and trust. Here is how we protect kids and keep parents informed.
Plan Your First Sunday
In plain words
Our approach is practical: vet adults carefully, keep rooms observable, secure the hallway, and communicate with parents.
Every volunteer gives two references, interviews, passes a background check renewed every two years, and takes child-safety training every year.
At least two adults are in every room. No adult is ever alone with a child, and volunteers under 18 serve only with adults in the room.
The kids hallway closes 15 minutes after service begins. Only badged volunteers and parents with a pickup tag may enter, with a safety team member at the door all morning.
Diapers are changed in view of a second adult. Older kids are walked to the restroom by a same-gender adult who waits outside the door.
Please keep children home after fever, vomiting, or diarrhea in the previous 24 hours. We do not give medicine, apart from a child’s own epinephrine pen.
No photos of children are posted without a parent’s written permission.
Parents are told the same day about any injury or incident. We follow Texas law on reporting suspected abuse.
“I read the safety page before we came. That is why we came.”

Who is responsible
Every kids volunteer is background checked and trained in child-abuse prevention each year; our nursery coordinator is a Texas registered nurse, RN #000000.
